Narrative clashes, explained: the 8-hour fight, the burn, and why your tokens are always yours

2CLASH is a permissionless platform for narrative clashes on BNB Smart Chain. If you've seen the app and weren't sure what's actually happening, here's the whole thing, step by step.

1. Two tokens, one ring, eight hours

The 2CLASH listing — every live battle at a glance

A clash is two real ERC-20 tokens put head-to-head for an eight-hour round. Anyone can create one — that's the "permissionless" part. While the round runs, people buy the side they believe in, and the listing shows who's ahead with a tug-of-war bar, the 24h volume, liquidity, and the pending burn. You're always holding a real token you can sell; you're not placing a bet that settles against you.

2. What happens at the settle

A clash counting down to its settle

When the eight hours are up, the round settles. The side whose liquidity pool grew more wins. The loser's pot is used to buy the winning token, and a chunk of the winner's supply is burned — the app narrates it right on the clash: "the loser's pot buys the winner + supply burns." Then a new round starts. Crucially, the losing side isn't wiped out or confiscated; those holders keep their tokens and the price simply reflects the result. That price can drop sharply at the settle, which is the real risk to understand.

3. The burn, and the floor it creates

Every settled round, and how the pot was split

Each settle is recorded in the open — who won, and how the pot was split between protocol, creator, keeper, and the burn. Because burned tokens are gone forever, circulating supply shrinks over time, and the app derives a minimum price from it. The "Rounds" tab is the receipt: the flywheel, round after round, on-chain.

4. It isn't betting — your tokens stay yours

The complete holders list, sorted by share of supply

This is the part people miss. In a bet or a prediction market, you stake money on an outcome and it's gone if you're wrong. Here you own a real ERC-20 token the entire time — you can see every holder on-chain, sorted by share of supply. Win or lose the round, the token stays in your wallet and you can sell any time. That's why it's a game with real tokens, not a betting product. Prices move both ways; only trade what you can afford to.

Frequently asked questions

What is a narrative clash?
Two real tokens go head-to-head for about eight hours on BNB Chain. People buy the side they believe in; when the round settles, the loser's pot buys the winning token and burns part of its supply. You hold a real token you can sell anytime.
What happens when a round settles?
The side whose liquidity pool grew more wins. The losing side's pot is used to buy the winning token, and a chunk of the winner's supply is burned forever, then a new round starts. Losing-side holders keep their tokens; the price simply reflects the result.
Is a narrative clash a bet or a prediction market?
It isn't a bet. You own a real ERC-20 token the entire time and can sell any moment — nothing is staked and taken if you're wrong. Prices move both ways, so only trade what you can afford to lose.
How does the burn create a price floor?
Burned tokens are gone forever, so circulating supply shrinks over time and the app derives a minimum price from it. Every settle is recorded on-chain in the Rounds tab.
